About Kristin

Personal approach – My role as a therapist is to provide a safe place for clients to tap into the courage it requires to share their story and take steps towards healing.  Connection, trust, and safety are my top priority when working together, and I believe our relationship is the number one factor in whether or not therapy is successful.  When there is trust, shame can be released. I believe it is here that healing begins and the next meaningful steps towards your goals can be taken. Although I am confident in my formal education, clinical skills, strategies and interventions; those tools will only be effective if there is comfort and trust in our relationship.

As a Licensed Professional Counselor with over a decade of experience in practice, I have had the opportunity to hone in on areas of expertise and specialty.  I have a passion for walking with women through life’s hardships – whether that is through pregnancy and new motherhood, crippling anxiety or depression, or relational difficulties due to complex trauma histories.  I use an eclectic approach that is tailored to the person and their concerns, pulling from a person-centered and existential lens.

I utilize skills, tools and strategies like Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (IPT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Interpersonal Therapy (IPT).  I am certified in Perinatal Mental Health (PMH-C) from Postpartum Support International, and am a Prepare-Enrich certified facilitator.   I am committed to ongoing professional development, personal growth and evaluation, and professional clinical consultation. Outside my role as therapist, I am a wife, mother of 2 girls and love my community in Milwaukee. I enjoy long walks in nature to de-stress, cooking (when it’s not chicken nuggets and PB&J’s for my kids), communicating in funny memes, reality tv, true crime podcasts, learning about all things cults, and snuggling on the couch with my kiddos.
